Leeds is well-known as a destination where you are guaranteed a good night out. The city has an unbelievable collection of independent pubs, bars and clubs. Its reputation as one of the UK’s most favoured clubbing cities is due to a number of ground-breaking club nights such as Speedqueen and Back to Basics that started off in Leeds before making their way to other cities. Clubbers flock to the city every weekend from as far as Scotland and even London to experience one of the best clubbing scenes in the country.

Mojo’s is a cocktail bar that characterizes the stylish bar scene in Leeds, decorated with rock’n’roll memorabilia and psychadelia, anything from the past 50 years can be on the playlist. It gets real busy here especially at weekends and the atmosphere is bouncing. Chilli White is a new venue for the elite who like to party, there are 3 floors with music, dancing and a great atmosphere. Located in the centre of the city it is perfect for meeting up with friends after work or dancing until the early hours of the morning.
Superna is an extravagant late night locale playing host to Leeds smart set. Its location behind the Corn Exchange makes it convenient and easy to find. With luxurious leather booths, the outside alfresco drinking and dining area serves food all day. As the late hour approaches a selection of local DJs play a diverse mix of house, electro, funk and soul.
The Courtyard is said to be one of the first bars in the city and recently revived by the new bar culture in this part of town. The all weather courtyard is what attracts people especially since the no smoking ban was enforced. It’s covered in winter with a huge umbrella and they even provide giant heaters to keep you warm and TV’s for entertainment!
Leeds’ most fruitful club night, Back to Basics, has been around for the past 10 years, now based at Rehab in the centre of the Exchange Quarter district they have an interesting medical theme going on. Check out the ‘General Infirmary’ toilets and the bar staff dressed as doctors. Aside from the theme some of the World’s most famous DJs play at Rehab.
Federation is a monthly event that starts the night off with a parade from sister venue, Fibre, a gay bar popular with practically everyone whether gay or straight. Stilt walkers and drag queens in the most outrageous costumes lead everyone with a ticket to a dark underground arch for a spectacular show from clubbing gurus ‘One Love’.
